Online coaching – experiences from HR

“Wooninc. has a social heart. Also for our employees. We find it important that they are comfortable in their own skin and have a pleasant working environment. Especially now that a lot of people have been working from home for months and had to adjust their work mode to the new situation.

Working from home

Each employee is now in a different situation and deals with it in a completely different way: are you required to work from home and are you a single-person household? So how do you deal with being alone 24/7? Or are you a father or mother without a vital profession and are now forced to combine your work and teaching young children at the kitchen table? Do you manage to do some of your work in the evening if necessary? Can you share the teaching role with your partner

Vitality program within our organization

Wooninc. has a vitality program and we host social events throughout the year. Now that everyone works from home, these programs are just as important. This is why we have been thinking about online options since the beginning of the corona crisis. For example, we offer online relaxation exercises. Exercises that keep people moving. We teach employees to stand or walk when they need to make a phone call. And we also find online solutions for social events, such as a know-your-colleague quiz.

Online coaching

We also liked the idea of online coaching. Is working from home not going well or are there other things going on? And do managers catch these signals? Then these employees are offered an online coaching program. A number of employees have already taken advantage of this – very successfully. It has helped them regain their job satisfaction.

A major advantage of online coaching is that each employee can schedule the calls at a time convenient to him or her. And perhaps more importantly, you can have the coaching conversations from the comfort of your home. That feels very safe. The idea of coaching remotely, that is, via a screen, appears to have little or no impact on the coaching conversation itself. Moreover, you don’t have to travel and each coaching session takes a maximum of half an hour. This makes online coaching especially practical and efficient. I regularly bring it to the attention within Wooninc, and it is increasingly seen as a good tool to help employees enjoy working, even from home.”
